FROM THE NORTH

Take I-5 South. Exit at Rosecrans (same exit as I-8 East, but stay to the right for Rosecrans) Follow Rosecrans South for approximately 3 miles. Turn left at the light on Shelter Island Drive (Wells Fargo Bank on left side corner). Proceed straight ahead on to Shelter Island.

Take I-5 North to Hawthorne Street exit (Airport exit). Follow directions for airport. Take Hawthorne 1/2 mile, which ends at Harbor Drive. Right on Harbor Drive for approximately 3 miles. Go past the airport and over the bridge to Rosecrans Avenue. Turn left on Rosecrans Avenue at the light and follow Rosecrans for 6 blocks. Turn left at the light on Shelter Island Drive (Wells Fargo Bank on left side corner) Proceed straight ahead on to Shelter Island.

Take I-8 West to the end of the Freeway. Stay in left lane. Bear to the left and join Nimitz Street at first light. Follow Nimitz for approximately 2 1/2 miles. Turn right on Rosecrans Avenue at the light and follow Rosecrans for 10 blocks to Shelter Island Drive (Wells Fargo Bank on left side corner), Turn left. Proceed straight ahead on to Shelter Island.

Now that we are all on Shelter Island Drive:

Drive 1.1 miles (road curves to the right). Meet at the Children's Swingset/Children's Playhouse with Slide (multi-colored). This is ON YOUR LEFT and in the Park.

(1) 3 blocks PAST the Island Palms Hotel main entrance/lobby.

(2) 2 blocks BEFORE the Kona Kai Hotel (main entrance /lobby.

(3) Free parking on the street or in the long public parking lot next to the Children's Swingset/Playhouse/Slide.

MEET AT THE CHILDREN'S SWINGSET/PLAYHOUSE/SLIDE (multi-colored) -- IN THE PARK -- 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME.

DEPARTURE POINTS

We are based in the Kona Marina behind the Kona Kai Hotel on Shelter Island.  Other points of departure include:

Downtown San Diego (Marriott/Hyatt)

Coronado Island (Hotel del Coronado, and Loews)

Harbor Island (Sheraton, Hilton, Westin)

There is no docking fee at Kona Kai Hotel.  Other hotel marinas usually charge a docking fee of $100.  There is usually a remote fee of $400 for the hours we spend traveling back and forth to other points of departure.
